Painter
Ines Marlow
Paints the weather over the estuary, mostly from memory, in thin layers of oil.

Ines grew up on the estuary and still walks the sea wall most mornings. She studied painting in Glasgow, came home in 2012 and has shown with us since our third year.
Her canvases start as quick oil sketches made outside and finish in the studio over several weeks. She works on six or seven at once, which is why her shows tend to arrive all together.
In the artist’s words
I'm not trying to paint the view. I'm trying to paint the ten minutes before the rain arrives, when everything goes quiet and flat.
